Few Swedish black metal bands are as legendary as Nifelheim, where bassist Tyrant is one of the band’s founders. Just before the summer, Tyrant launched without warning his new band Crank, where he somewhat unexpectedly took on the role of the band’s singer and guitarist. Neither is black metal served, but Crank offers really dirty biker rock with an attitude that oozes sulphur. The influences of Motörhead, early Iron Maiden and other NWOBM are clear, but Crank has definitely found his own style – by simply completely screwing up everything called style. This gonna be LOUD!
